privacy policy.

Radial is a proximity-first social app. We need a small, specific set of personal information to make that work — your location, the photos you upload, and a few things you tell us about yourself. We hold that data to a high standard. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what we collect, how we use it, who it's shared with, and the controls you have.

The short version. We collect the minimum we need to operate Radial. We never sell your personal data. Your precise location is never shown to anyone — we only show approximate distance, and only while you have actively chosen to "go live." We share your profile and an approximate distance only with people who have also chosen to be nearby and visible to you.

1. who we are.

"Radial," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operator of the Radial application, including the iOS app, our website, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can reach us at privacy@joinradial.com.

2. information we collect.

We collect only what we need to run Radial. The categories below cover everything we collect from or about you.

2.1 information you provide.

2.2 information collected automatically.

2.3 information from third parties.

2.4 what we don't collect.

We do not access your contacts, calendar, microphone, or camera roll unless you grant a specific permission for a specific feature (for example, picking a photo from your library). We do not embed third-party advertising SDKs. We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information.

3. how we use location.

Location is the heart of Radial — and the area where we apply the most restraint.

4. photos and profile content.

Photos you upload are stored on our infrastructure and are shown to other users only as part of your profile. We may run automated checks on uploaded photos to enforce our rules (for example, detecting nudity or screenshotted images). These checks are limited to safety and eligibility — we do not use your photos to train general-purpose AI models, and we do not license them to third parties.

When you remove a photo from your profile, we delete it from active systems within 30 days, and from backups in line with our backup rotation (see section 10).

5. how we use your information.

We use the data described above to:

6. how mutual matches work.

Radial is built around mutual interest. Until two people have both signaled interest, neither is told that the other did. Specifically:

7. who we share data with.

7.1 other users.

While you're live, other live users in your vicinity who match your discovery preferences can see your first name, age, photos, optional bio, and an approximate distance band. They do not see your phone number, email, exact location, account history, or any data outside your visible profile.

7.2 service providers.

We share limited data with the vendors who help us run Radial, described in section 8. These vendors are contractually required to use the data only to provide services to us and to protect it appropriately.

7.3 legal and safety.

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to: (a) comply with a law, regulation, court order, or other legal process; (b) enforce our Terms; (c) protect the rights, property, or safety of users, Radial, or the public; or (d) detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.

7.4 corporate transactions.

If Radial is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice (for example, by email or in-app) before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

7.5 with your consent.

We may share information for purposes other than those listed when you direct us to or otherwise expressly consent.

7.6 we don't sell your data.

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not engage in "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California's privacy laws.

8. service providers and processors.

Radial relies on a small set of trusted vendors to run the Services. Categories include:

We can provide a current list of named sub-processors on request to privacy@joinradial.com.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data under the following legal bases:

10. how long we keep data.

11. your rights and choices.

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights with respect to your personal information:

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@joinradial.com from the email address associated with your account, or use the in-app "delete my account" flow under Settings → Account.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

12. how we protect data.

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect personal information, including TLS in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, access controls and audit logging on production systems, and a principle-of-least-privilege approach to vendor access. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever experience an incident affecting your data, we will notify you and any required regulators promptly, in line with applicable law.

13. international transfers.

Radial is operated from the United States, and our infrastructure may process data in the United States and other countries. If you access the Services from outside the country where the data is processed, your information will be transferred to and processed in those jurisdictions. Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or other appropriate transfer mechanisms to protect personal data transferred from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.

14. age limits and minors.

Radial is not intended for, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 18 years old. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact privacy@joinradial.com and we will remove the account and associated data.

15. regional disclosures.

15.1 united states (california, virginia, colorado, connecticut, utah, etc.).

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the rights described in section 11, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain types of processing. Radial does not "sell" personal information for money, and does not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require the right to limit under the CPRA. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we will verify both your identity and the agent's authority before responding.

15.2 european economic area, united kingdom, switzerland.

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, our legal bases are listed in section 9. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. The data controller for your information is the Radial entity that operates the Services; you can request the controller's contact details from privacy@joinradial.com.

16. changes to this policy.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of the page and, for material changes, give you advance notice (for example, by email or in-app banner). If you continue to use the Services after a change takes effect, you accept the updated policy.

17. contact us.
